Use of skelaxin:

It is better to take the tablets as according to the prescriptions of the doctor. It is always avoided to take the less and more quantity of the pill once a day.

Precautions before using the skelaxin:

Dose of skelaxin:
It is advised to take the pill four times a day if once missed don’t try to take the two doses at the same time must go to the next dose and forget the first one.

Warnings before taking skelaxin pill:

• One should avoid taking the skelaxin when he or she has intermittent porphyria.
  
• It is also avoided to take the skelaxin pill when some one is doing the work which needs high attention such as driving when working on the heavy machines. Because skelaxin is the pill which may make a person drowsy or it can cause the dizziness.
  
• One should not take the alcohol when he or she is using the skelaxin pill because it can increase the dizziness with the use of alcohol.
  
• For the children’s having age limits less then 12 they should avoid to take the skelaxin pill.

Drug interactions:
Skelaxin can produce the sedative effects if use with the other drugs. So it is always avoid taking the skelaxin with the use of other medicines because it can cause the drug interactions.
Those drugs which may interact with the skelaxin are:
Antihistamines such as:
 Brompheniramine, chlorpheniramine, azatadine, clemastine, etc.
Narcotics like:
Meperidine, morphine, propoxyphene, hydrocodone, oxycodone, fentanyl, and codeine.
Sedatives such as:
Phenobarbital, amobarbital, and secobarbital
Phenothiazines such as:
 Chlorpromazine, fluphenazine, mesoridazine, perphenazine, prochlorperazine, thioridazine, and trifluoperazine
Antidepressants such as:
 Doxepin, imipramine, nortriptyline, fluoxetine, paroxetine, sertraline, phenelzine, and tranylcypromine.
So before going to use the skelaxin it is very important to take the doctors prescriptions.

Side effects of using skelaxin:
Usually there are very few side effects of skelaxin but the common side effects of the drug which it can produce are:

• drowsiness
• dizziness
• upset stomach
• vomiting
• headaches
• nervousness

Symptoms:
Whenever some one notices the symptoms like:

• severe skin rash
• difficulty breathing
• yellowing of the skin or eyes
• unusual bruising or bleeding
• unusual tiredness or weakness
• seizures
