Chemistry:
Eflornithine Hydrochloride is (±) -2-(Difluoromethyl) Ornithine
Monohydrochloride Monohydrate.
It has an empirical formula: C 6 H 12 F 2 N 2 O 2

- H2O and a molecular weight 236.65
Dosage:
Vaniqa should be taken according to the instructions mentioned on the package or as prescribed by your doctor. Vaniqa is applied twice a day
and is not to be applied on areas of the skin that are damaged, sores or rashes etc. Before application skin must be clear. Vaniqa is applied only to the areas of the skin that have extra/unwanted hairs. If there is any confusion regarding application of Vaniqa cream you should contact your pharmacist or doctor. The minimum application time for Vaniqa to take effect on facial hairs is four hours. There should be eight hours interval for next dose.
Specific Technique:
The best time to start applying Vaniqa is about 5 minutes after usual hair removal procedure i.e. plucking, shaving etc. The cream should be rubbed in and left for the recommended four hours. Cosmetics could be applied after using Vaniqa cream but make sure that skin is dried thoroughly. Make sure all of the applied Vaniqa cream is absorbed into the skin. Make sure that cream should not go into eyes, mouth or nose. If it happens to get in eyes or mouth, rinse it away with
water and then contact a doctor.
Side effects:

Pregnant women should get advice from their doctors when seeking Vaniqa
treatment. Those who are breast-feeding should also consult their doctors. Those women under the age of 12 should avoid Vaniqa treatment.
