XENICAL can be taken during the meals or after an hour of meal. XENICAL should be avoided when the meal is skipped or no fat meal is taken.
XENICAL can result in decrease the amount of fat-soluble vitamins absorption some people may need to take a daily multivitamin that contains vitamins D, E, K and beta-carotene. Multi vitamins should be taken once a day at least 2 hours after taking XENICAL.
The results of weight loss from XENICAL starts within two weeks after starting the medicine and may continue to lose weight from between 6 months to a year. Better weight loss can be maintained if XENICAL is used under the supervision of doctor.
Side Effects of Taking XENICAL

PRECAUTIONS WHILE TAKING XENICAL
Before taking Xenical, it is important you;
- Inform your doctor if you are allergic to orlistat, XENICAL active ingredient or any other drugs
- Inform your doctor about what prescription and nonprescription drugs you on, especially anticoagulants such as warfarin (Coumadin); medications for diabetes such as glipizide (Glucotrol), glyburide (DiaBeta, Dynase, Micronase), metformin (Glucophage), and insulin; other medications for weight loss; pravastatin (Pravachol); vitamins such as beta-carotene and vitamins A, E, and K; and herbal products.
- If you are taking cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune), take it 2 hours before or 2 hours after Xenical.
It is also necessary to inform your doctor if you have or have had anorexia nervosa or bulimia, gallstones, thyroid disease, diabetes, kidney problems, or if you consistently have problems absorbing food. Also inform your doctor if you are pregnant, plan on getting pregnant or are breast-feeding.
